Creative Wellness Workshop

$25.00Exposure to and experience with the arts play an important part in both our mental and physical wellbeing. This non-clinical workshop is focused on using music and creative arts techniques to help you achieve enhanced wellness. You do not need to have any prior knowledge or experience with music to benefit from this workshop!
Participants will take part in music-based experiences such as music-assisted relaxation exercises, music and art creation, music-supported meditation, and guided imagery to promote stress management, resilience, and creative exploration.
The therapeutic use of music and engaging in creative activities can:
- Be a healthy coping strategy and distraction from stressors and worries
- Be a way to express emotions and release feelings of stress and tension
- Be a form of self-care
- Promote feelings of self-worth and self-esteem
- Be a way to promote social connection and reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness
There will be portions of the workshop where you may want to lay/sit down on the ground while listening to music. Please bring whatever you’d like for maximum comfort for sitting/lying down on a wood floor (yoga mat, bolster, blanket, pillow).
Participants will be given the opportunity to reflect on a musical experience through art/and or journaling. Writing and art supplies will be provided but if you have your own journal/notebook and art materials you’d like to use, you are welcome to bring your own.
